sql server new users:
I have question about licensing of MS SQL server. I read information about license per processor

We are developing application provides large database and few services that make some functions with the data. This application is used by other third party systems (IS) as solution for our clients. IS uses its own SQL server (Oracle) and it access to our data through our .NET component which encapsulate the data. IS use hundreds clients. Data that are used by client are saved in Oracle. IS calls functions of our application and works with data stored in MS SQL - but after processing IS stored data in Oracle - so the client never work with the data in MS SQL - only the IS does.

The question is which license we need for MS SQL:
a) CAL per seat for every user of IS for per processor license
b) only one CAL per seat for IS

Thans for relevant information

As you have hundreds of clients using your SQL Server application the
most cost-effective solution is probably going to be Processor
licensing rather than CALs. Under Processor licensing you don't need to
purchase additional CALs.

If in doubt on licensing issues then contact your local Microsoft
office or vendor for advice.

Whenever possible please post enough code to reproduce your problem.
Including CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements usually helps.
State what version of SQL Server you are using and specify the content
of any error messages.
