sql server new users: Enterprise Manager cannot connect to SQL Server 2005 including SQL Server
2005 Express Edition.
Use SQL Server Management Studio Express. The preview is available at

SQL Express and Enterprise Manager shank

I have SQL Express installed on a remote server. It installed without issue.
I'm trying to connect to it over the internet with Enterprise Manager and
failing! What I've done so far...

1) SQL Express is running
2) SQL Browser is running
3) I enabled TCP/IP and set it to listen to the machine IP address
4) Set the port to 1433
Basically, everything appears running and enabled.

Everytime I try to connect with EM, it fails.
In the end, what I would like to do is create/run a DTS package from my
workstation that transfers data between SQL 2000 on a shared server and SQL
Express on a dedicated server.

How do I get this accomplished?
How do I connect to SQL Express from workstation with EM?

thanks!

I answered too soon. I just tested this, and I didn't have any trouble
transferring data from SS2000 Enterprise Manager to SS2005 Express. I used a
SQL Native Client connection as the target.
