Hi Guys.

I am looking for some book recommendations for transact sql, preferrable
encompassing sql 2005.

I am writing some HTAs that will be querying sql databases. The quieries i
will be using will include some joins, unions and inserts. I have only looked
at books online sofar and want something to get my teeth into.

I hope these books may also become helpful when I start to get to grips with
sQL server administration.

Thanks in advance.

The best I know of is "The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL" by Ken Henderson. A
bit pricy ($37.79 on Amazon.com) but well worth it in my opinion (check out
the Amazon.com reviews for other opinions).

Henderson has written two other books (all three books available in a boxed
set for $88.19 covering T-SQL, SQL Server architecture & internals, sprocs,
XML and HTML). These books helped me greatly.
