sql server new users : Installing SQL on XP

Hi all...

Another question, can I install the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition on my XP
Pro SP2? Are there any preliminary requirements that I need to look at
before doing so?

Yup...you'll need the .Net Framework 2.0 installed. The
installation will check for all the requirements. You can
find links for the requirements listed here:

Check the Before You Install and the Hardware/Software
requirements links.

(ie. Express, Workgroup, Standard & Developer Editions).

Yes, every edition except Enterprise Edition will run on Windows XP (ie.
Express, Workgroup, Standard & Developer Editions).
