sql server new users: Hi

Can I create a DB in SQL 2000 and then attach it to the SQL 2005 express or
vice versa. Do you forsee any problems with this. Thanks.

You can go up in versions but not down in versions. So you can go from
SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 but you can go from SQL 2005 to SQL 2000.

Hello,

From SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 you can attach a database. But in SQL express
there is a limitation of 4 MG data fie (MDF). So if you have a database
with more 4 GB MDF size in
SQL 2000 then you will not be attach to SQL express.

But from SQL 2005 to SQL 2000 is not supported. You will have to use DTS or
SSIS to move object and data.

well I've sure had problems doing this.. but it's a fairly large database
