When I tried to apply service pack 2 for SQL 2005, it wont let me update
Database services (status NA). Why is that? After the update,

There must be a message at the right side when you try to update your SQL
Server with SP2.

Which says "Upgraded" if it's already upgraded. Because this is the only
reason SP2 doesn't update MSSQLServer as far as I know.

After SP2, new SQL Server updates are released too. They also re-released
SP2. You may have the old one? If yours is old, then try downloading the
lasted one. And run Windows Update to update your SQL Server 2005.

This is all I can advise for now.
