Notification service auto start dependency

sql server notification services:

Dear All
I changed my NS$instance_name service as automatic
startup , but i found the following error message in the
event log

"The NS$instance_name service failed to start due to the
following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control
request in a timely fashion. "

it works fine if I manually start the service, I did set
the service dependency to SQL and SMTP server. Did I still
miss out something?

Are you sure you can start it manually? MSSQL is already started? Might be a
permissions issue. Make sure you've registered it with the correct
credentials and that the windows or sql account you're using is a member of
the correct roles in your NS db's.
