Sure. SQLNS is very flexible in its deployment options.

For the simpliest of scenarios, you can install everything on one box
- the single server deployment.

For a higher volume system, you can install the SQLNS components and
instances on one server and have the back end database on another
server - the remote database deployment scenario.

And finally for the really high volume solutions, you can separate the
various components (distributor, generator, etc) by placing them on
different servers - the scale-out deployment scenario.

The last option requires Enterprise edition; the first two are
available on Standard Edition.
