sql server notification services : Computed Fields in Protocol Fields?

as you have read, you can use any valid sql expression that refers to
columns defined as protocol fields or general tsql functions like
getdate etc

Thanks for your responses to my last few inquiries!

Is it possible to use Computed Fields in the <Fields> section of the
<Protocol> definition? This would facilitate dynamic creation of Subject
lines for emails, which is something we are trying to figure out how to do.

I may have just answered my own question... just read a bit more in the
docs and noticed the <FieldReference> and <SqlExpression> tags. Now I feel
dumb :-(
