sql server notification services: How do we setup a expiration date for an subscription.

Example. a user subscribes to alert from an airport on a paticular
depature or arrival. We now know the date for the plane to arrive or
depart, but the day after this there is no reason for keeeping the
subscription in NS.

Is there something in NS that can handles this??

Or does anybody already have the solution for this.

Thanx in advance

Take a look at these threads:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.sqlserver.notificationsvcs/browse_thread/thread/2a0b73880b846ea6/483ca0e6cff6ff8b?q=subscription+disable&rnum=1#483ca0e6cff6ff8b

In summary - there is no direct support in the current version, but
there are some potential workarounds you may want to explore.

1) Write a custom delivery protocol to disable the subscription.
2) Write a scheduled tasks to periodically clean up
3) Use Chron tables to keep up with expiration dates and add it to
your matching rules.

HTH...
