sql server notification services : Performance Counter

Hi,
If for some reason the notification instance is to be re-registed, it gives
error that performance counter is already exiting. How to overcome this?

Did you unregister the instance before re-registering?

I did un-register the instance. Later when I re-register it gives error that

After unregistering the instance, can you see the counters in perfmon?
Here's a KB article that discusses SQLNS performance counters; not
exactly the problem you're describing but maybe it'll help.
