Hi Andy -
Here's a link to a blog I did a while back that lists the top 10
enhancements to SQLNS in v2005.
http://sqlns.blogspot.com/2005/10/whats-new-in-sqlns-2005.html I've also got an article coming out on Simple-Talk
(
http://www.simple-talk.com/) in the next couple of weeks on the same
topic.
The concepts on the two version are largely the same - you have
subscribers, subscriptions, events, and notifications. SQLNS 2005 adds
improved performance, new management APIs, etc, but the premise is the
same.
Shyam Pather has already updated his book. I'm still in the process of
updating mine - I hope to have it completed soon, but I don't have a
release date as yet.
HTH...

I should mention that that biggest change that would affect your
development efforts is that the Notify() function of SQLNS v2.0 has
been replaced with views.
Here's a blog posting about the difference.

Hi Andy,
2005 has the NMO above and beyond 2000 to give you a programmatic
interface.
