sql server notification services: We have installed SSNS in an active-passive SQL cluster. All seems to go
well until the SQL group moves to the 2nd server. At that time, the NS
service fails to start and the group fails back over to the 1st server where
the NS service starts successfully.

In the cluster log, I see this error: "ERR Generic Service <xxxxx NS
Service>: Unable to read parameters from registry for Service '(null)' .
Error: 13, property in error is 'ServiceName' ."

I have run the nsregister command on both servers. The service name is
specified in the Parameters tab of the resource definition. Why would I have

The error message is a bit of a red herring. The problem turned out to be
that when SSNS created the instance databases, it put the log files on a
non-clustered drive. Backing up the databases and restoring them to the
correct drive resolved the probem.
