sql server odbc : How to disable ODBC-error popups?

Hi, currently i'm using a msql 2000 for db-purposes of an ivr
application.
i want to achieve that when an error or timeout on connect to db occurs
the ivr-application sends out an error-email. the problem is odbc
creates a popup with the error message. only after pressing ok odbc
forwards the error to the application that statrted its session.

e.g. if mssql cannot be accessed via odbc, i will not get an
email-notification, because is first have to login to remote server
and klick ok...
that seriouly sucks!

how can i "silent" odbc-error messages?

thanks for help in advance

i can't answer this question properly... i'm new in this business

i'm using a desktop application which connects via odbc to a mssql 2000
using microsofts standard sqlserver odbc-driver

would changing the driver solve my problem?
where do i get proper odbc-drivers?
