sql server odbc: You may want to look into using MSDE. MSDE is based on the SQL Sever engine
and it's free. You can find out more about MSDE at:

Hi all,
Our company currently has no Database servers, neither centralized ones like
SQL Servers or standalone/P2P ones like Foxpro. And in terms of Spreadsheet
programs like Excel, can it take over, because of the data size is quite
small (Excel 2000 with Macros), those database engines? We'm just looking
for simple data retreivals and reports. Is it possible to just use Excel on
its own without purchasing several licenses for foxpro or one big licence
for SQL Server? By the way, How much do they cost right now (SQL Server and
Foxpro per seat or concurrent connections of 5)? In $US may be fine.
Thanks a lot
Jack
