sql server odbc: We are thinking about deploying MDAC2.8 to resolve some
named instance and DNS alias connection problem. Input on
MDAC2.8 dependency and potential impact to expect would be

Make sure you have full backups!

Most servers I have seen upgrade with no problems.
However, I have seen the odd blue screen here or there
after installation - return to last known good solved
those.
