sql server odbc : Not getting database list while trying to chage default db.

I need some help!

We're correcting some security things on our SQL server and now when I try
to establish an ODBC connection, I can no longer choose the default database
for the connection from the drop down list.

It has to be related to user rights we removed on the SQL Server, but I
can't figure out what. If anyone has an idea what is used to populate that
list of databases, I'd appreciate knowing that info.

Thanks a bunch

If no databases are showing up in the drop down, you can
type the database name. To have databases show up in the
drop down when creating DSNs, you need to select the option:
Connect to SQL Server to obtain default settings for the
additional configuration options. The ODBC data source
administrator will then execute:
select name from master..sysdatabases where
has_dbaccess(name)=1
So what shows in the drop down at that point depends on what
you are using in the Authentication settings for the same
screen in the ODBC data source administrator.
