Hello,

I try to install SQL Server 2005 Dev Beta2 on Win 2000 Pro SP4. In
installer, I select all possible options to make sure that I don't
miss anything. It appears that everything is fine (no errors
reported), however the Workbench is not installed. SQL
Profiler is installed and it has an option to launch SQL Server
Manager (this may no be the excat name, I don't have it in front of
me), but it tells me that SQL Server Manager is not installed!

The online tutorials mention that a menu item for launching SQL
Server Manager should exist under Microsoft Sql Server, but it's not
there.

What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Thank you.
Tom

PS I asked this question on another forum a few days ago, but I did't

Are you 100% positive that it was the dev edition? Where did you obtain it?
I'm betting you actually have the Express Edition bits. Or if you have the
developer edition, you missed a checkbox in setup, or setup didn't complete
successfully.

What forum was that? Have you tried the SQL Server 2005 newsgroups???
