Based on what I've read so far the UDM schemas are pretty extensive
and seem adaptable to many scenarios. It seems that the level of
normalization will make for complicated stored procedures and
performance will be a major concern.

I was wondering if anyone here has any comments, advice, or caveats on
the UDM.

I am particularly interested to hear about any programming/performance
issues.
