Hi all.
I am sure there are lots of information about how to start the prosess of
migrating an application from VB6 to .NET. I just couldn't find it. It is
the common questions.

How do we start?
Can we do one bit at at time
Should we do some changes in VB6 first to prepare to .NET
+++++

We have a VB6 app running agains a SQL2000 DB.

Any links to case studies, best practise would be nice.

Thanks all.

Boy what a question. The following things should be in the queue for
resolution of this problem.

1. How do you access the DB.
ADO.NET is a much different animal and will permitt you to do things in
a much different way. If you just convert then you are most likely missing
out on new functionallity.

2. Do you have 3rd party controls. If you do then you will have to get
in touch with the vendor to see if they have updated versions. If so you
will then have to ensure that their functionallity remains the same between
DOT.NET and classic VB.

3. About doing it a bit a time - you can create DOT.NET assemblies that
can be used by classic VB and DOT.NET can use COM from VB6.
