Evaluate them against agreed objectives and performance metrics I
expect. Is that a problem? If they aren't expected to meet any targets
then I'm not sure what you want to evaluate.

strange question.....

Typically DBAs rated on Performance, up time, customer satisfaction

Developers rated on projects on time, on budget and meeting custom
expectations (requirements)

Hi friends !

We are in the process of annual evaluation of our database
administrators and developers for SQL Server. Their jobs
cannot be evaluated as of accountants and our sales Team because
their projects are always of on going nature.

What is the best way for their evaluation ?

Please advise !

Did you have a contract. If so, what are the expected results for the
contract. That should be the ONLY valid/fair evaluation. Anything else the
consultants outside of the contract is not contractually bound. Tis not
appropriate for evaluation.

Are you wanting to evaluate the performance of the DBA group as a whole or
each individual relative to the group?

With constantly changing requirements, it's hard to judge if the project is
really only 50% complete. Do the DBA have an understanding of how the
business operates? Do they prioritize their tasks according to which are
most important to management? When a crisis occurs that demands immediate
action, do they step up to the plate and get a functional solution in place
so the business is not negatively impacted?

We want to evaluate on individual basis ?
Problem is that we have very few developers i.e. 5 and 2 DBAs.

Due to the changing and urgent requriements their 50% of projects
remain unfinished ?
