sql server replication: SQL 2000 SP3, Transact replication.

One subscriber has a record that the other subscribers
don't have. Can't delete it or add a new one, and get
this error:

"Updatable Subscriptions: Rows do not match between
Publisher and Subscriber. Run the Distribution Agent to
refresh rows at the Subscriber."

I need to delete this record (a person's name) so that
they can log in again and have their record added to the
table. This problem has shut down replication totally on
this subscriber.
I've run the distribution agent, but it makes no
difference.
How can I get this problem solved and how did it happen
in the first place and will it happen again?

Thanks,
Don

open up Replication Monitor in EM, expand the agents
folder, and then expand the distribution agent folder.
Location your distribution agent - it should have a red x
on it.

Right click and select continue on data consistency errors.

Then restart your distribution agent job.

After all commands have flushed try to delete this row at
the publisher and if this fails, try the susbcriber.

You might have success updating it to a new record as
opposed to deleting it.

As to why this has happened - my experience is that All
data validation errors are caused by people making updates
at the subscriber and denying it. In your particular case
your topology should allow this. I would recommend
running profiler and doing logging to try to isolate the
culprit.

I also recommend calling up PSS and opening a support
incident with them on this problem.

It seems that the errors is that the structure of the
table don't match between them.
Did you add ad column to the publisher?

You can also skipp the error in the distribution agent,
force the distribution to that susbcriber, and then erase
the skipped error.
