sql server replication:
To learn and practice Replication, I am trying to create
a SQL Replication of two SQL databases accross a WAN
using two Laptop computers one is a Windows2000 Pro OS
and the other is an XP Pro OS.

Problem in authenticating between the two. Any pointers
would be appreciated.

You will have to use SQL Authentication. NT Authentication doesn't work
within a work group.

Change this option in Tools - Replication - Configure Publishers,
Distributors, Subscribers, go to the subscribers tab, select your
subscriber, click on the three ellipses to the right of your table and use
SQL Authentication, with the sa account and password on the publisher.

Then modify your snapshot folder share to something that everyone can
access.
