Apply Init Snap w/o cnn to Pub/Dis

sql server replication: Subscriber: WinXP with MSDE2000sp3
Publisher: Win2000 with SQL 2000 EE sp3
Distributor: on same machine with publisher

I have been able to apply an initial snapshot from a
removeable media to the subscriber, but it doesn't appear
as if I can do so while the subscriber PC (a laptop that
will not usually be connected to the network) is not
connected to the network so it can see the distributor
and publisher.

What I want to do is put everything I need to install the
app on a CD, ship it to the remote users, and let them
install MSDE 2000sp3, then create the pull subscription
(sp_addmergepullsubscription appears to work nicely while
disconnected), and then apply the initial snapshot off
the CD. I don't want to have to have them be connected
to the WAN when this last step happens. I don't need
them to necessarily synch up right away.

Yes, have a look at attach and go subscribers - available with merge
replication.
