sql server replication: I have two servers running SQL Server 2000 under Windows
200 Server. Server 1 (being setup as the Publisher and
Distributor) has Server 2 as the Subscriber. When I
complete the Configure Publishing, Subscribers, and
Distribution Wizard (the Publisher is defined to be
Transactional and the Distributor to run scheduled every
two minutes) and press the Finish button, I get the
error: Error 21007: Cannot add the remote Distributor.
Make sure that the local server is configure as a
Publisher at the Distributor. What steps do I need to do,
and in what sequence, on each server to get Replication

In Enterprise Manager point to Distributing Server and
then click on Tools, Replication, Configure
publisher/subscriber/distributer.
In the publications TAB select the publishing server. U
might have to provide the correct security credentials.

Anupam,

Thanks for your reply. Part of my problem is that the Distributing
service was never created. Using Enterprise Manage, under Replication,
I have a Publisher entry and a Subscriber entry. I have used the
Configure Wizard many times and it always errors out. Is there another
way to create the Distributor?
