sql server replication:
Hi,

We're using transactional replication from SQL 2000 sp3 to
a subscriber, a SQL 2000 sp2 server. The subscriber is
also the distributor from where the snapshot agent runs.

The publication does not allow annonymous subscribers.
We're using a push subscription. We use verticle
filtering.

When we run the inital snapshot we see that it bcp's the
data to the subscriber. However the subscriber never
receives the data. We re-initialized the subscription and
tried again with no luck. We get no errors. When we make
a change at the publisher, the log reader agent says it
delivered 1 transaction but again, the subscriber doesn't
recive it and we receive no errors. However the
distributor agent history says teh snapshot is not yet
available. ???? The snapshot agent reports that a
snapshot with 1 article was generated. We did not
select 'subscriber already has data' option.

Please help!! We need to get this done by tomorrow. It's
happening on another pair of servers with the same
configuration.

TIA,

two things -

is your publisher verison 8.0 sp3? and distributor is 8.0 sp2? This is an
unsupported setup. Version of distributor has to be greater than or equal
to the version of the publisher.

You mention running snapshot agent and log reader agent, but nothing about
the distribution agent. Did you run the distribution agent? Sorry, just
trying to cover the basics first.
