sql server replication: Hello all,

I have encountered an error where sp_MSgetserver returns
no data. This I think is causing an error when the
replication agent tries to determine the licensing setup
and thus the replication agent fails.

The Log File for the verbose repl agent output is

XXXX.: {call sp_MSgetversion }
Percent Complete: 0
Could not get license information correctly.
Disconnecting from Distributor 'XXXX'

and when I run sp_msgetversion via the Query Analyser I
get

Character_Value
-------------------- ----------- -----------

Ther are not any Errors.

I have done a few searces and cannot come up with
anything.

Does anybody have any ideas.

Thanks
Dean

Is your SQL Server on the latest Service Pack?
Check to see if recycling the SQL Server results in any change in the behavior.

Rebooting the server did not work, I checked the DLL Versions against a
sever that did work and there was no difference. When I tried to install one
of the service packs it conflicted with some other software (According to
the error that was returned).

In the end we gave it away on that server (Which was really one of the
_Developers_ Machines) and built another test server with a fresh install.

Thanks
