sql server replication: Running SQL & Win 2000 on all servers.

The replication monitor is showing that there is an error
in my Merge Agents folder. When I expand the Replication
Monitor->Agents->Merge Agents, there is no error on any
of the Subscriptions.

How can I clear this up?? Is there really an error and
the subsctiption is just not reporting it? What table
can I look at the is causing this error?

Hello Larry -
From your Enterprise Manager, right click your replication monitor
and do a refresh. Then check whether you get the "red cross" still. If so,
then check the merge agent history. You can right click the merge agent and
select the "agent history". If this does not show any errors, then the
agent is not likely to have encountered any errors.
You can also query the MSrepl_errors table in the distribution database to
check for errors.

Enterprise Manager has a "feature" of displaying replication status by last
occured event :) If there was an error on some agent, but now it is runing
fine - EM would still display an "error status".
So if you see that there is nothing wrong with agents - then your
replication is OK.

I don't know simple way to clear this up. Maybe restarting of replication
(merge agents) could help if this is appropriate for your environment.
