sql server replication: Hi All,

I have SQL Server 2000 Instance like more than 30 characters including netboisname+instance name. When i am trying to set up replication on this instance for my dev database, it is giving error number: 14234.: The specified @Server is invalid (valid values are returned by sp_helpserver).

Please advice me,

Hello -
First check your sysservers table in the master database
- check for the entry for the local server.
You need to have the correct machine name as the srvname and the srvid for
that local machine should be 1. If you see any other value, then you need
to do a sp_dropserver and do a sp_addserver. More information about these 2
stored procedures can be found in books online.
