Merge agent timeout

Merge agent timeout wchang NO[at]SPAM siac.com

sql server replication: 1. In merger immediate/contineous update replication, it
takes about 20 seconds before the replication kicks in
after i make any changes to db on either side. and "Add" )
seems to be faster than "delete". Is there any
configuration I can make to speed up the process?

2. The merge agent was stopped by itself after the
initial setup was done. Is there any timeout parameter
related to this problem?

1: right-click on the merge agent and choose to edit the
profile - configuration settings are found there.
Additional settings can be entered in the job step and are
found at : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?
url=/library/en-us/coprompt/cp_replmerg_4y2h.asp
2: the agent should not stop itself in continuous mode.
Check for errors and verify that the schedule is not on a
time basis. Other than that, timeouts are configurable as
above.

Paul Ibison
