sql server replication: I have a point of sale merge replication project running in production. And
it works fine with bidirection data transfer. Recently though, the power
was pulled to the POS device. I was only down about 10 minutes. The agent
showed a stop due to the maximum number of retries at 10. However, I
thought this was controlled by the agent timeout that was set to 1440
minutes (24 hours).

When the power was reapplied, I simply just had to click 'Start
Syncronizing' for the subscriber, but what can I do to increase the number
of retries before it stops trying to reconnect?

The retry attempts is on the Advanced tab of the job step

Thanks, I thought it was a replication parameter instead of a job parameter.
