Hi
I am very new to this replication processes, At present
after going through all replication docs on the net I am
able to understand what replication is, its advantages
etc. Now I want to try out Transactional replication - to
keep data back up. Since I am new to this area - can any
one plz help me to set up my sql server(s1) as subscriptor
& another (s2) as Publisher & distrubutor. Also how to
transfer data from s2 to s1 so as to keep a back up on s1.

thnx in advance .

Shanu,
I can point you to the resources you'll need but explaining all the options
in transactional replication would require a rather hefty article instead of
a discussion board reply :-). Have a look at books online (BOL); the topic
"replication, overview" and its subtopics should be a good starting point.
In the links section on www.replicationanswers.com there are links to a few
setup tutorials. These will be worth printing out as there are loads of
screen shots. Having digested this material, just go for it in a test
environment.
