sql server replication: Dear All,
Our Production server crashed and is currently being
repaired. When Its back on line I am going to copy the
infomation from our DRS Transactional Replicated Server
to the Production, however I would like to ask a couple
of questions.

1. Our distributor is on our DRS server, how do I
temporary turn it off so it does not look for updates
when production is switched on.

After the data from DRS is copied back to the Production
server

2. How do I re-start the replication with a snapshot (our
snapshot deletes and re-creates the tables)

1) you can turn off the sql agent service, or turn off the relevant agents
(jobs).
2) restarting replication with a snapshot is referred to as initialization,
so reinitialize is what you will need to do.
