sql server replication:
Running Win 2k & SQK 2K

Someone started an install of MS Project Server and
bailed out at some point during the install. Now the
server that this was done on, does not have an SQL Server
Agent.

How do I get the Agent back?? Do I need to uninstall SQL
Server, then reinstall?? Is it possible to just install
that one component??

When I run 'net start SQLServerAgent' from a DOS prompt,
I get 'The service name is invalid.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2185.'

When I attempt to start the service from the SQL Server
Service Manager, I get.....The specified service does not
as an installed service....then when I click OK, I
get....An error 1060 - (The specified service does not
exist as an installed service.) occurred while performing
this service operation on the SQL ServerAgent Service.

So do I just reinstall SQL Server or is their another
solution that will not require me to bring SQL down??

HELP!!!
Thanks,

why do you think there is no SQL Server agent?

What happens if you go to a command prompt and type

net start SQLAgent$InstanceName
or
net start SQLServerAgent
