sql server replication : Using SQL 2000 Merge Replication with WSUS

Here's what I'm trying to do.

I have two servers. I've set them up using Microsoft's built in load
balancing. I've installed WSUS, using MS SQL Server 2000 for Workgroups on
each server. Now all I need to do is set up merge replication of the
databases so that they stay in synch with one another.

It doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to make this work? If not, is
there some other way I can configure these servers so that they're load
balanced and their databases stay synchronized?

Peer to peer replication in SQL 2005 is ideal for this. Merge replication
should work as well. Why do you think it is not working? Are you getting any
errors? Have you run a validation. A validation will tell you if you are in
sync or not.
