sql server replication:
Resubmitting with the correct e-mail domain...

The problem I'm having is that prior snapshot folders are being
retained on my production server and the unc folder is growing quite
large. This is different behavior that what is occuring on my
acceptance and development servers, where only the most recent
snapshot folder is present. I use scripting to create my publications
and otherwise the servers are setup as closely as possible. Can
anyone suggest what might be causing this difference and how to
resolve it?

Additional details: I have two transactional publications and two
merge publications. Each one is setup to allow anonymous subcriptions
and snapshot agents are set up to run nightly. Interestingly, the
merge publications are behaving differently than the transactional.
Up until 12/30, all the merge snapshots were retained. On 12/30, all
the publications were dropped and recreated. The only publication
changes were the addition of an article and filter to one of the merge
publications, but after that date, only the most recent snapshot is
retained for both merge publications. The transactional snapshots
continue to be retained each day.

Thank you.

sounds like the snapshot has never been applied to the

Hi kjvt,

Thanks for your posting!

From your descriptions, I understood that your snapshot folders are growing
instead of being clean up. Have I understood you? Correct me if I was wrong.

Here is some suggestions and please let me know the results
1. you'd better check the properties of the snapshot agent, and change the
schedule of the publications.
2. Check your SQL Server startup account, if it is local system, change it
to domain account with local admin authority.
3. Please looked at job history for the snapshot agent and show me if there
is any error message
