sql server replication : Replication Manager in split envionment

After many pain staking hours, I have rebuilt my replication setup so
that we are now running our publisher on one server and our
distributor on another as recommended by Microsoft. Although data QC
seems to show that the data is replicating fine... Replication monitor
(running on the publisher) is no longer able to display the status of
the subscriptions. If I run it on the distributor, it is unable to
show any subscriptions at all!

How can I best monitor this environment???

Are these db objects in SQL Server 2005?? For some reason I can not
find them in my new envionment. Is this another side effect of
splitting up the distributor and the publisher?
