sql server replication:
I have a Sql 2000 Citrix data store on a server which is licensed per
processor. I have established replication on this server to another
server. This other server (the Subscriber) is running sql 2000 also
but at this time is only licensed for 5 seats. Would I need to
license this subscriber as per processor also if it were to be used as
the live server for a few days if the publisher pc went down? I am
guessing I would need the per processor license if it were to even need
to be live and that I couldnt use the per processor license of the
server since it was down, Is passing a license from a down server to
the new live server possible?

No, but you have to have licenses in place for every client who will access
it. This might be more expensive than the pre-processor license.

If you are using log shipping or clustering you do not need to have a
license for the standby server or the inactive node, but for replication you
will.
