Hello ,

I have a database in SQL2005 is adatabase of 52 tables and is Merge
Replicated.
Currently 12 Handhelds use this set ... but in the futere we will go up
to 60 handhelds.

Depending from the changes, Synchronization (Using GPRS) is taking now
on average 1 or 2 minutes or sometimes 4-5 minutes. Some other times i
get complains that "It took 10 minutes yestarday to Sync" Or
"It took 40 Minutes to Sync" but in a month that happend 2 or 3 times.

Now my Question is , How can i Maintain this speed od Sync (1-4
minutes) when all 60 handhelds will go live?
(Must I run The Snapshot Agent frequently? And if yes How Frequent?)

Thanks

I'm not too sure why you are referring to the running of the snapshot
agent - usually this is only run for initialization and not for other
synchronizations. Are you reinitializing ofr some reason? If not, once the
devices are all initialized, I'd disable the snapshot agent. To decrease the
time taken for synchronization, have a look at staggering the agent
schedules, and also look to see if there is any blocking involved which is
slowing things up, and the retention period you have which will determine
the size of retained metadata.
