sql server replication: Hello,
I am attempting to setup a transactional scheme from an instance of SQL
server 2K inside our firewall to an instance running in our DMZ. I am
getting the error "SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
(Source: <DMZ server name> (Data source); Error number: 17)"
I have been reading books online and haven't found anything on this
particular topic. BTW, I just ordered Hilary Cotter's book on Transactional
and Snapshot replication but was hoping someone may be able to point me in

Make it an anonymous subscriber and it should work. I don't think I recall
talking about this in the book.

Good afternoon Hilary,

Your suggestion and quick response were greatly appreciated but I did not
adequately describe the scenario. We are attempting to establish a one-way
transactional push replication from inside our firewalled domain to a SQL
Server in your DMZ. We will be horizontally and vertically filtering the
replicated data. Please excuse my lack of networking saavy as this is my
first attempt at replication. I believe you mentioned in your book that you
could not have an anonymous push subscription. I am only prtially finishe
dwith your book and it has been quite a help thus far but I am facing a
deadline for getting this to work or to use one of the other methods you
mentioned in Chapter 1. Thanks for your help
