Subscription initialization problem via the web sherraneTWO NO[at]SPAM mindspring.com

sql server replication: I have configured a merge publication using dynamic filters with SQL
Server 2005. I can successfully initialize new subscriptions over the
LAN.

However, I cannot initialize new subscriptions using web
synchronization. I receive the error, "The merge process could not
allocate memory for an operation; your system may be running low on
virtual memory. Restart the merge agent." If I change the
configuration of the subscriber to use the LAN, I will be able to
initialize this subscriber. I have replicated the web initialization
problem using SQL Management Studio and the ActiveX objects. I have
the same issue when using the default snapshot location and using FTP.

Once I have initialized the subscription via the LAN, I can configure
the subscription to successfully use web synchronization.

This seems like a client-side problem. But the client machines (the
same problem occurs on my two test machines) have 1.5 GB RAM and over
40 GB free disk space. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

You client or the IIS machine is probably overloaded and not able to process
the request for initial sync. Ensure that there is memory available and try
again.

Hope that helps
