sql server replication : SQL2005 - 2000 Transactional - Snapshot failure

I am moving some transactional replication from a 2000 to a 2005 box but
replicating back to a 2000 box. I have recreated the pull subscriptions on
the 2000 side but they fail if the snapshot folder is left as the default.
It seems as though the agent on the 2000 box is simply looking into the
d:<path> on its own drives and not back to the 2005 publisher(default
location). If I create the agents locally, everything seems to work fine.
Some pubs use the local drives and some use the 2000 drives for space

Hi Jeff,

Your observation is indeed correct that the default snapshot location has
been changed in SQL2005 to be a local path relative to the distributor so
push subscriptions will work under a low privilege account without further
permission configuration on the default ReplData directory. As you probably
know already, you can reconfigure the snapshot folder at both the publisher
level and the publication level (alternate snapshot folder) but please let
us know if you running into issues with configuring those. Thanks for the
feedback.
