Can't create a publication in SQL Server 2005 -- sql server replication

sql server replication : Can't create a publication in SQL Server 2005

Hi,

I'm running SQL Server 2005 Standard edition. In SQL Server Management
Studio when I right click on replication and select New I can only create a
Subscription. Why can I not create a publication?

Aidan,
who are you logged on as? Is there an informational message? Basically, I'm
thinking that the database you have access to might not have been enabled
for replication (sp_replicationdboption).

I'm logged on as an admin. There is no errors, the option to create a
publication just isn't available.
