sql server replication:
I am trying to set up interactive conflict resolution between a SQL 2005
Enterprise Edition server (publisher) and SQL 2005 Express Edition clients
(subscribers). I get the following error:

The merge process failed to get correct information about the Interactive
Resolver component from the registry. Verify that the registry exists and
that the path is correct.

Is it possible to use interactive resolve with SQL 2005 Express?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Johan Zietsman

It should work. Did you follow the steps listed here?

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms165714.aspx

If you did, I think you need to install the latest sp as something seems
broken.

This is the latest SP. There may be later hot fixes but I am unaware of any
which address this problem.

Can you check to see if the conflict is logged? Sometimes different versions
of Office whack the conflict resolver. Can you launch the conflict viewer?

Dear Hilary

Many thanks for your reply.

I did follow the steps in the link you provided.

Regarding the latest service pack, I am running SQL Express 9.0.2047. As far
as I now, this is the SP1 version. Is there a later version available?

Any other ideas?

The machine that I am working on is a brand new installation. I also find
the same problem on the other client (subscriber) machine that I am using.

Thanks again.

I found two related newsgroup messages. They apply to SQL Server 2000. I
went through all the checks that are suggested, but still get the error.
