sql server replication : Modification of System Table Data in MSSMS 2005

Is there a way I can modify system table data in MSSMS 2005 w/o a
query?? When I right click on the table, 'Open Table' is greyed.

I know it is not a good idea to mess with this data, but ya know there
are times it is necessary.

TIA,
Larry...

Larry - I suppose the obvious MS question is 'when is it necessary' :)?
From the replication point of view in SQL 2000 there are only one or two
circumstances when I have needed to do this, and (touch-wood) none so far in
SQL Server 2005.

Paul,

Thanks for the response & obvious question.....

I am using MSSMS 2005 to manage some SQL 2000 servers & I have a couple
of rouge subscriptions/publications that keep on appearing that I want
to investigate, to remove for good.

I know there has to be a way 'around' this decision of MS.

OK - I suppose the only way I know of is to use EM instead, but the usual
caveats apply re support etc :)
Cheers,
Paul
