sql server replication : Service Pack 1 Breaks SQL Express Replication Subscriptions

We have SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition with several (around 75)
replication subscribers (SQL Server Express). After applying Service Pack 1
to the Publisher, about 80% of the subscriptions became invalidated. Simply
reinitializing the subscription did not work. The entire subscription had
to be set up all over again.

Being that these were laptop pull subscriptions, this was a major headache.

Subscriptions on other SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition servers were
unaffected.

Has anyone had this problem?
