sql server replication : Active Directory?

This feature is highly misunderstood. What it means is that your publication
will be listed in active directory. No files will be stored there. Then when
you are pulling your subscription you can browse for all publications that
have been listed in active directory.

One of the options when setting the Transaction replication is 'List in
Active Directory'

What does that mean?
