sql server reporting services:
Hi,

currently I test a website using the application center test.
My web site is a sharepoint site with some webparts.
most of these webparts access some olap cubes directly, and near every page
has a webpart which call reportserver to display the list of available
reports.

all reside on 1 server (except the workstation who done the ACT test)

the processor usage show me that the reportserver access consume more
ressources then the other accesses. and I'm surprise to see a lot of
ressource consuming to display only a list of available reports!
the w3wp process used by reporting services consume near twice the power of
the w3wp process of my sharepoint site.

any idea of what can I do to improve the performance?
what parameters can I change?
does the usage of excluded managed paths slow down the performance?
does I have to change my webpart code? (I know I can use caching
capabilities, but for the moment I prefer to not use this)

thanks for your guides.

Jerome.

I know this document, but this doesn't help me to identify if there is any
impact on the performance when I'm using Reportserver on a virtual server
which also contain sharepoint.
and if there is an impact, how to solve it.

I've added some cache in my webpart but there is no performance
improvement!!!

I'll test the performance with a direct access to reportserver to compare
the tests.

HP's paper at

Plus I'm sure there's a section in the Admin Guide on performance.
