sql server reporting services:
On 2 occassions now our system has lost data source connection strings
forcing the report users to enter data source user names and passwords (which
they do not know). I have rectified this by redeploying the data sources,
this becomes labourious as we have reports deployed in multiple folders and
the data sources need to be re-deployed to each folder.

I have checked the logs and the only indication I get is that the connection
could not be made to the data souces, no other explanation.

Has any one else had this issue? Any way of tracking down the source of
this problem?

thanks

Hi
While creating the Data source for the report, you must check "Allow
Saving Password" box when a specific user name and password is used.
Otherwise the report will prompt u to enter username and password
everytime u access the report.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply, but I had already done this. The deployed data
sources had been working fine for a number of weeks then the connection
strings disappeared!
