sql server reporting services: How do I go about having the Report Project Wizard recognize the shared data

I'm not sure that you can. You're best off re-creating the same shared data
source in your project so you can keep it all together. The old data source
won't be overwritten unless you've got OverwriteDataSources property in the
Report Project Properties set to true.
